Tom Rice

Hugh Thompson "Tom" Rice Jr. ( * August 4, 1957 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina) is an American politician. Since 2013 he represents the state of South Carolina in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Tom Rice attended the University of South Carolina in Columbia until 1979. After a subsequent law degree from the same university and his 1982 was admitted to the bar in 1985, he began to work in this profession. He specializes in tax law. Previously, he had held various other professions. So he worked among other things as an accountant. Politically, he joined the Republican Party. Between 2010 and 2012 he was a member and Chairman of the District Council in Horry County.

In the congressional elections of 2012, Rice was in the back decorated seventh constituency of South Carolina in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he took up his new mandate on January 3, 2013. He is a member of the Committee on Budgets, the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure and the Committee on Small Business. He is also a four subcommittees. Rice is considered a conservative MP.
