Tomás Gomensoro is a city in northwestern Uruguay.
Geography
It is in the area of the department of Artigas in its sector 9 about 110 km west of the capital of the department of Artigas. Located northwest of the city is Bella Unión.
History
In 1908 the city received its present name, which is due to the same former Uruguayan President Tomás Gomensoro. Previously, she led the name Zanja Honda.
Population
The town has 2,659 inhabitants, of whom 1,286 men and 1,373 women (as of 2011). and is thus in terms of the number of inhabitants currently the third largest city of the department.
