Tomasz Bagiński

Tomasz Bagiński ( born January 10, 1976 in Białystok, Poland) is a Polish animator, illustrator, film director and producer.

Life

Bagiński studied architecture at the Technical University of Warsaw, but the study dropped out after four years ahead of schedule. Already in children and adolescence, he had experimented with computer animation and brought his knowledge to himself. During his architectural studies he had completed his first film Deszcz, which appeared in 1997 and won the contest Young Electronics Arts 3D Graphics. He came in the same year for CGI Studio Platige Image in Warsaw. As a result, he directed numerous commercials director, but was also for the trailer of computer games, including The Witcher and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, in charge.

In 2002, his computer-animated short film Katedra was published by Deszcz his second film directing and the first in Platige Image. Katedra 2003 was nominated for Best Animated Short Film for an Oscar in the category. Even more short animated films Bagiński were internationally successful: Sztuka spadania won the 2006 BAFTA while cinematographer was in competition for the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival. Bagiński also created films for the international promotion of Poland.
