Tombs of the Nobles (Amarna)

The rock tombs of Amarna lie in the eastern mountains of Akhenaten's former capital, Akhetaten. The necropolis with the so-called " Tombs of the Nobles " ( private tombs ) is divided into the following areas: the North and the South Cemetery. In between, the King, with the Royal grave and four other subsidiary tombs.

The graves were examined from 1903 to 1907 by Norman de Garis Davies, who published his work in the six -volume work The Rock tombs of El Amarna.
