Tomi Okawa
Tomi Ōkawa (Japanese大川 とみ, Ōkawa Tomi married, Tomi Okada (岡田 とみ, Okada Tomi ), born February 26, 1933 Mitsukaido (now Joso ), Ibaraki Prefecture ) is a former Japanese table tennis player. In the Table Tennis World Championships 1956, she won the title as the first Japanese woman in women's singles. A further two gold medals she won with the Japanese team. In the Japanese national championships she could only once the title in the women's singles win (1959 ), but won five times in the mixed doubles.
