Tonino Delli Colli

Tonino Delli Colli ( born November 20, 1922 in Rome, † August 16, 2005 ) was an Italian cinematographer.

Life

Delli Colli was for decades, working since the age of 16, as a cameraman and directed many classic films the recordings. He started his career together with his cousin Franco Delli Colli (1929-2004), who was also a cameraman. He has worked with directors such as Federico Fellini, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Sergio Leone, Roberto Faenza, Dino Risi and Mario Monicelli, such as Play me the song of death, The Name of the Rose and Ginger and Fred.

Robert Benigni's Oscar - winning strip Life is Beautiful was one of his last works. He was awarded for the fourth time in his career with the Italian film award David di Donatello for Best Cinematography for this film.

Delli Colli received 1944-2005 over 130 film awards, including six times the Nastro d' Argento of Sindacato Nazionale Giornalisti Cinematografici Italiani and the International Achievement Award of the American Association of cinematographers (ASC ). In 1986 he was a member of the jury of the International Film Festival of Cannes.
