Tonpa Shenrab Miwoche

Shenrab Miwoche ( Tib: gshen rab mi bo che, also: Tönpa (teacher) Shenrab Miwoche ) is a legendary and mythical champion and founding father of the Eternal Bon, a pre-Buddhist religion in Tibet. He is said to have been born around the year 1856 BC and all that time to be found traditions of Bon have combined into a unified religious system. Other sources call for his life time, the time to 18,000 BC

According to tradition, it was the Bon Shenrab Miwoche, who taught for the first time the teachings of Dzogchen in this world, the "essence " of all the higher teachings of Bön which will directly lead to spiritual realization. According to the Bon teachings Buddha is said to have been a later incarnation of Shenrab Miwoche. Shenrab the legend grew after from heavenly realms down, manifested itself at the foot of Mount Meru (see Kailash ) and was born as a royal prince. After he had married in early youth and fathered children, he renounced the age of 31 the worldly life and began to preach until his death at 82 years the Bon teachings.
