Tony Aubin

Tony Louis Alexandre Aubin ( born December 8, 1907 in Paris, † September 21, 1981 ) was a French composer.

Aubin studied from 1925 to 1930 at the Conservatoire of Paris by Samuel Rousseau (harmony ), Noël Gallon ( Counterpoint ), Philippe Gaubert ( orchestral conducting and composition) and Paul Dukas (composition). In 1930 he won the Prix de Rome for the cantata Actéon. He then worked in broadcasting. From 1944 to 1977 he taught at the Conservatoire as professor of composition.

He composed a ballet, an opera, theater and film music, two symphonies and other symphonic works, a cello concerto, chamber music, piano pieces, choruses and songs.
