Tony Hunt (artist)

Tony Hunt ( b. 1942 in Alert Bay, British Columbia ) is a Canadian artist who comes from the Kwakwaka'wakw. He is well known for its carved totem poles.

Hunt was born in 1942 in Alert Bay, British Columbia and was trained early on by his grandfather Mungo Martin in carving. After Martin's death in 1962, he was his father Henry Hunt, who in Victoria made ​​artful carvings in Thunderbird Park Assistant. His two brothers Stanley Hunt and Richard Hunt are also professional artists.

In 1970 he opened the Arts of the Raven Gallery in Victoria.
