Tony Imi

Tony Imi ( born March 27, 1937 in London, † March 8, 2010 ) was a British cinematographer.

Life

Tony Imi began as a projectionist at the BBC and then worked his way up wizard functions to the chief cameraman. Among the first films in which he did the camera work, were some of director Bryan Forbes. Imi worked for the entertainment cinema without further artistic ambitions. He fulfilled a demanding task with photography for Wolfgang Petersen's Enemy Mine. Occasionally, Imi was also engaged for the German cinema, b. As for Aimée and Jaguar. Besides his numerous films for television, Imi was also active for several years as Chairman of the British cameramen Association.
