Tony Kaye (director)

Tony Kaye ( born 1952 in London, England ) is a British film director, film producer, cinematographer and occasional actor.

Kaye turns advertising and feature films. In 1998, he sued the production company New Line Cinema and the Directors Guild of America at 275 million U.S. dollars, since the latter had forbidden him to use a pseudonym for his film American History X. Directors Guild argued with rule violations by Kaye because he had attacked in full-page ads in the magazine Variety the film. Kaye, however, saw through the cut version known to him his rights, which would result in his opinion, from the 1st Amendment to the Constitution of the United States violated.

The magazine Rolling Stone reported in 2002, Kaye was the director for a film with Marlon Brando ( Lying for a Living ) have been offered. On the first day he appeared then as Osama bin Laden dressed, on the third he left the set and announced.

In 2006, he shot a self-financed documentary about anti - abortion campaigns in the United States, Lake of Fire. He directed Stadium Arcadium by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, as well as in the video What God Wants of the former Pink Floyd singer Roger Waters.

Kayes second, in 2007 incurred movie Black Water Transit, was presented to distributors at Cannes in 2009, but did not come to the movies.
