Torakusu Yamaha

Torakusu Yamaha (山 叶寅楠; Yamaha Torakusu; * April 20, 1851; † August 8, 1916 ) is the founder of the Group Yamaha Corporation.

As an expert in the repair of medical equipment, he was appointed in 1884 from Nagasaki in the hospital of the city of Hamamatsu. 1887 fell from the harmonium of an elementary school and was remembered in his abilities. Although he knew nothing of this instrument, he repaired it and later began to devote himself entirely to the production of this type instruments one year. That was the beginning of the development of the port city of Hamamatsu to the center of the keyboard instrument making in Japan.
