Torcedor

A Torcedor is a cigar roller, or a Zigarrenrollerin.

The term is used internationally, not only in Latin America but now also in the literature on cigars. It refers solely to professionals who make a Longfillerzigarre completely by hand.

Torcedores are professional (often female ) cigar rollers, who make up to 200 large- tip cigars per day entirely by hand. They are divided into seven output classes, depending on experience and skill and produce correspondingly different formats (from Panatelas on Gran Coronas to the most difficult torpedo formats). The manual production is in addition to strict selection and prolonged maturation the primary quality characteristic of top cigars, which they of mechanical and cheaper mass production (such as Shortfillern ) taste, but also priced different.
