Tore Renberg

Goals Renberg ( born August 3, 1972 in Stavanger ) is a Norwegian writer and musician.

Renberg has studied at the University of Bergen literature and philosophy. He work as a literary critic and journalist and moderated beyond 1998 to 1999 his own show ( "read Foreningen " ) on Norwegian television ( NRK).

Renberg has published in various genres: novels, children's books, short stories, plays and screenplays. He has received numerous awards in Norway and the 1998 Henrik Steffens Prize by the Alfred Toepfer Foundation by the Christian -Albrecht- University of Kiel. His debut Sovende floke (1995 ) was awarded the " Tarjej Vesaas ' debutantpris " and quickly earned him the reputation as one of the outstanding Norwegian writers of his generation. The follow-up novel Matriarkat (1996 ) was able to consolidate that reputation. The commercial breakthrough came in 2003 with " Mannen som elsket Yngve ", which became one of the most widely read novels of the decade in Norway. Published in 2005 Renberg with " company Orheim " its most extensive and ambitious work. The novel is about the Jarle Klepp childhood and adolescence in an environment of addiction parents' house, was enthusiastically received in Norway and is currently regarded by many as Renbergs important work. The author himself has hinted want more books to release around the hero Jarle Klepp.

His debut as a screenplay writer gave Renberg 2004 with the feature film " Alt for Egil " (Director: Tore Rygh ). Based on his novel Mannen som success elsket Yngve he wrote the screenplay for the film of the same, the very successful 2008 went in Scandinavian cinema and now also under the German title The Man Who Loved Yngve an audience has been found.
