Torrecuso

Torrecuso is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 3426 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Benevento in Campania. The community is located about 12 kilometers northwest of Benevento. Torrecuso belongs to the Comunità Montana del Taburno. The northwestern boundary of the municipality is the Calore Irpino.

History

Torrecuso was first mentioned in the 11th century as torum licusi. From the 13th century there was a castle Finucchio, which was destroyed by an earthquake in 1349.

Traffic

Through the community, the Strada Statale 372 Telesina leads from Caianello to Benevento.
