TOT S.C.

The TOT FC is a professional football club based in Lak Si, which is part of the Bangkok Metropolitan Region is located in Central Thailand. The name of the club derives from the owner and sponsor of the "Telephone Organization of Thailand " ( Thai Telephone Organization). The club plays in the top league in the country, the Thai Premier League. Play their home games, the club normally made in the TOT Stadium Chaeng Watthana. Currently, however, he deviates from the Yamaha Stadium of local rivals Muang Thong United.

Club history

Founded in the club 1981. 1993 celebrated the club 's largest ever club success. This year he won the FA Cup. Winning the Cup entitled the club to participate in the Cup Winners' Cup competition in Asia in 1995. You could at least reach the semifinals and retired from there against the Yokohama wing, the eventual champions. 1996/97 was the TOT member of the first Thai Premier League season. At the end of this season, the club also reached his best ever performance in the TPL. After finishing the regular season, the club finished second in the table and was able to qualify for the play- offs. In the semifinals of the playoffs then they lost to the eventual champions FC Bangkok Bank. At the end of the 2000 season, the club was back on the bottom of the table and had to relegation. With a 4-0 win over the FC Bangkok Christian College, however, the descent could be confidently prevented. However, in 2003, the descent could not be prevented. Until the 2007 season, followed by a further descent. Each descent followed by a direct re-emergence. With fifth place in the 2008 season, the club reached the first time in the top 5 of the league for almost a decade. Until the 2009 season, the club was located in Nonthaburi. In order, however, to develop a broader fan base, the club moved to Kanchanaburi to be located in Lak Si, only a year later. The company CAT Telecom rose for the 2010 season as a co-sponsor. Since then, the club bears the official name TOT -CAT FC. Thus was accompanied by a new club logo. The longtime coach Pongphan Wongsuwan left the TOT FC for the new season. Somchai Subpherm, previously manager of Bangkok United, was named as his successor. But without even having directed a play, he was released again. Since then, Narong Suwannachot trained the first team. With the departure of Pongphan left no fewer than ten players the club and followed their old coach after Buriram to FC Buriram PEA. Among them was Suchao Nuchnum which was a sort of icon for the club and a total of 113 league games completed. As a replacement for the many outlets TOT -CAT undertook four players from Slovakia and with Georgi Tsimakuridze a player from Georgia. For the first time thus play players from these nations in the Thai Premier League. On the evening of the 5th game day lost the TOT -CAT FC 's defender Chanon Wongaree. Chanon died on the night of April 17, 2010 to the following an accident which had occurred four days earlier.
