Toyota Motor Manufacturing France
The Toyota Motor Manufacturing France SAS, in short form TMMF, is an existing since the fall of 1998, automobile manufacturer with headquarters in the French village of Onnaing in the department of Nord. The company is a subsidiary of Toyota Motor Europe N / VS / A and thus a part of the Japanese Toyota Group. At the beginning of the vehicle identification number, the factory uses the world manufacturer code VNK. A factory code, however, the letter A is used at the eleventh position.
The construction work for the new plant began in spring 1999. A year later, the first production could be installed until finally the production of the Toyota Yaris, as well as that of the Toyota Yaris Verso was taken on January 31, 2001. While the Yaris as the Yaris Verso were also undergone a facelift in 2003, accounted for the Yaris Verso complete with the introduction of the second generation during the year 2005.
But engines are produced here since April 2002. Are produced in Valenciennes, the D -4D turbo diesel direct injection engines with common rail technology. Later was then followed by the diesel engines in the D -CAT series. A short time later, in November, Toyota increased the capacity of the plant from 100,000 to 184,000 vehicles per year. Next, the three-shift operation started, so in July of the five hundred thousandth Yaris left the factory in May 2004. This, however, also increased the annual production to 270,000 units per year. The one millionth Yaris, already in its second generation, rolled off the production line in December 2006.
Furthermore, the TMMF since September 2005 with its own training center (Centre de Formation ) also worked as a training company. A total of 3,732 employees work on the 233 -acre site for the TMMF.
In July 2011, Toyota ended the production of the European Yaris, which was then replaced by the identical and applicable as a sister model Daihatsu Charade. At the same time, the new generation of the Yaris for the European market was launched.
