Trajan Langdon

Trajan Shaka Langdon ( born May 13, 1976 in Palo Alto, California) is an American former basketball player.

Life

Youth and College

Trajan Langdon was born in 1976 in Palo Alto, where his father, the anthropologist Stephen J. Langdon, at that time a doctoral student at Stanford University was, and grew up in Anchorage, Alaska. After graduating from high school, Langdon tried several times as a baseball player in Minor Leagues, but ultimately focused on his basketball career at Duke University. In 1999, he led the Duke Blue Devils in the final of the College Cup, which was, however, against the UConn Huskies, the team from the University of Connecticut, lost.

Professional career

Clubs

After his college days was 11 drafted to the Cleveland Cavaliers Trajan Langdon in 1999 as a whole. Thus he became the first player in the NBA history, who had made his high school graduation in Alaska. There he played a total of three years but did not progress beyond the status of a supplementary player. Thereafter, Langdon moved to Europe and played one year each for Benetton Treviso in Italy, Efes Pilsen in Turkey and Dynamo Moscow. In 2005 he moved to the city neighbors CSKA, where he remained until the end of his career. Trajan Langdon played with three different clubs during the period of 2002-2011 a total of eight seasons in the ULEB Euro League, which he won in 2006 and 2008 with CSKA. With Dynamo Moscow he took part in the ULEB Eurocup 2004-2005. In addition to these European competitions he played with CSKA 2008-2011 in the VTB United League.

National

Because of the NBA lockout 1998 Trajan Langdon was appointed to the cadre of the U.S. national team, with whom he won the 3rd place in Greece in the Basketball World Championship 1998.
