Trans, Switzerland
Trans (Romansh: Traun) was until December 31, 2008, a municipality in the district Domleschg in the district of Rhein Behind the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland.
Since January 1, 2009 Trans belongs together with Feldis / Veulden, Scheid and Tumegl / Tomils the new community Tomils.

Geography
Haufendorf Trans is a mountain village in the Domleschg and is located 800 meters above the valley floor on the western slope of the Fulhorns ( 2529 m). Highest point of the community was the Stätzerhorn ( 2574 m) on the former eastern boundary of the municipality. Together, the two aforementioned mountains formed the cornerstones of the northeast and southeast boundary of the municipality. From all over the former municipality of 744 ha 345 ha are forested mountains and 164 acres. From the acreage of 225 ha 151 ha are cultivated as mountain pastures. The remaining ten hectares are settlement area.

Languages
Originally the population Sutselvisch, a Grison Romanesque dialect spoke. The onset in the second half of the 19th century language change could be reversed until the First World War (1880 71 %, 1910 91 % Romansh ). At the beginning of World War II, the proportion of Romansh dropped to 75%. Since 1970, German is the majority language.
