Transitional ballistics

The Abgangsballistik (also called intermediate or Übergangsballistik ) of gun examines the movement of missiles and related processes at the mouth and in its immediate vicinity.

Through operations that are the subject of disposal of ballistic tests, the projectile velocity changes, and there are disposal errors. The determination of these changes is the first major problem of Abgangsballistik.

Upon firing occur at the tube mouth and in the immediate vicinity of the acoustic and electromagnetic, in particular optical, phenomena which can be used for detection, location and identification of the weapon. This reconnaissance tasks and the corresponding Tarnungsaufgaben form the second main problem of Abgangsballistik.
