The Traunstein station is the only station in the large district town of Traunstein. It has four mainline tracks and two stub tracks and heard the train station category 4 of the DB Station & Service in. Location

The station is located in the center of the town of Traunstein. Southeast of the station is limited by the station square where the station building is located. History

Establishment and operation until the Second World War

The station was opened on 7 May 1860 the completion of the railway Rosenheim, Traunstein. The station was rail and post expedition. On August 1, 1860, the railroad was completed to Salzburg and the path or the post expedition was to train and postal administration. The station initially had four tracks, loading track systems with a charging room and a loading dock, and a car turntable. The course has been served by five alternating guards post. Reconstruction and operation up today

To replace the destroyed dispatcher switchboard in the reception building, the second interlocking guards was converted into a dispatcher switchboard. The station building was replaced by wooden barracks. 1952, plans for a new station building. The planned building is quite similar to the railway station in Bad Reichenhall. Long-distance traffic

The Traunstein station is serviced in the long-distance transport of Intercity and Euro City trains between Munich and Austria. The Euro City Lines 62 and 32 set forth together a two- hour intervals.
