Trench art

The term grave work (also: grave Arts ) refers to a fashioned and zweckentfremdetes ammunition part. Especially in the position and grave battles of the First World War took many soldiers waiting to make of ammunition residues keepsake for family members in the home or Nutzartikel.

These Militaria are collector's items today. In most cases, cartridge cases were fashioned with calibers from 40 mm and cartridges with diameters up to 150 mm rings, bracelets, pendants, shot glasses, lighters, ashtrays, cigarette cases, candle holders or vases. Often shrapnel were processed - mainly to knives or letter openers.
