Trench

The excavation or Künette or Kinette (of cunette French, Italian Cunetta = ditch ) is an elongated Aufgrabungsschacht (including cable trunking or cable trench ) in road construction for pipe laying. The term Künette is mainly used in Austria.

Properties

It is usually dug for the laying of pipes (gas, water, electricity, telecommunications, etc.). At greater depths ( legally from 1.25 m in depth Austria ) or fragile embankment to stabilize the walls of an excavation with wood, in proximity to the ground it is pumped out. The law must excavation of 40 cm in width or less not be entered. At crossing of doorways the excavation should be covered contract safely.
