Trent Parke

Trent Parke ( born March 20, 1971 in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia) is an Australian photographer, a member of the Magnum Photos agency.

Life

Parks began as a 12- year-old with the Pentax Spotmatic his mother and parental laundry as a darkroom. His adopted home was long the metropolis Sydney, most recently lived in Adelaide. He is married to the emerged also as a photographer Narelle Autio, with whom he also co-operates professionally and artistically closely. He often took jobs as a sports photographer for the magazine New Ltd.. Parke has established in 1998 its own agency Oculi. Photographs of him were purchased and issued by the Museums National Gallery of Australia, National Gallery of Victoria, National Maritime Museum of Australia and the University of Sydney Union. In addition, his work is represented in numerous private collections.

Awards

Trent Parke has received numerous international and national awards as a photographer, including:

  • The prize World Press Photo Award 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2005
  • The W. Eugene Smith Award (2003 ) for the photo-reportage Minutes to Midnight over Australia at the beginning of the 21st century
  • The Canon Photo Essay Prize ( part of the Sasakawa World Sports Awards ) (2000 )
  • Choice in the World Press Photo Masterclass in 1999
  • A total of five Gold Lenses Awards in 1996, 1997, 1998 by the International Olympic Committee
  • A solo exhibition of Minutes to Midnight in the Australian Centre for Photography ( ACP) in Sydney in January / February 2005
  • Further solo exhibitions in New York City, London and Germany.
