The Treysa station is a 1908 eröffneter through station on the Main- Weser Railway in the Hessian town of Schwalm city. It is located in Treysa district on the southern edge of downtown and is Intercity breakpoint and junction in regional traffic.

History

Treysa had already during the construction of the Main- Weser Railway (Kassel -Frankfurt am Main ) was obtained in 1850 a small station, which is about one kilometer northeast of today's railway station was located. It was a classical brick building that was built in the years 1847/48 to plans by the architect Julius Eugen Ruhl of Kassel. This station was built during the construction of the railway line opened in 1876 Leinefelde- Treysa ( about Eschwege ), a section of the strategic railway line between Berlin and Metz, which was referred to as Kanonenbahn.

Today's meaning

The Schwalm- Eder-Kreis has to reactivate the currently disused railway line field - Treysa to Homberg ( Efze) ago. However, whether this happens is unclear.
