Triakontameron

Triakontameron is a sequence of 30 pieces and an epilogue for piano, composed in 1919/1920 by Leopold Godowsky.

Formation

Each of the pieces was written in a single day, and all are in three -quarter time. The title was inspired by Boccaccio 's Decameron. Among the most famous parts of the suite include pieces entitled Alt Wien, Nocturnal Tangier and Ethiopian Serenade. They were published as Triakontameron, Thirty Moods and Scenes in Triple Measure on May 19, 1920 for the first time.
