Tribute-Album

A tribute album is a music album that contains only covers of instruments of a certain musician and was recorded as a rule only by other musicians.

Background

With the recording of a tribute album, press the individuals involved in their recognition (English tribute) compared to the original artist. Because of this special relationship between the author and artist, which can refrain from self-serving marketing rather, the revenues achieved with a tribute album are often donated to charity.

The introduction of the concept is the music producer Hal Willner attributed, who conceived in 1981 in honor of the late film music composer Nino Rota Amarcord Nino Rota LP. Special tribute albums

  • Albums that were released with the intention to increase the awareness of the featured musician.
