TRIP Linhas Aéreas ( Transportes Regionais do Interior Paulista ) was a national Brazilian regional airline based in Campinas and based on the São Paulo - Guarulhos airport. It is owned by the Caprioli Group ( 51%) and the Águia Branca Group ( 49%).

History

The establishment by the Caprioli Group and the start of flight operations were carried out in 1998 with 2 Embraer EMB- 120. The network has since been continuously expanded and now extends to 64 destinations throughout Brazil. The fleet was correspondingly increased 72 machines by the use of used ATR 42 and ATR. After entering the Aguia Branca Group in November 2006 on January 25, 2007, the order of seven ATR 72-500 with an option for another 5 machines. It was the first appointment of new ATR 72-500 from Brazil.

On 13 November 2007 the airline TRIP Linhas Aéreas and Total Linhas Aéreas applied for the concentration to the national aviation authority, which took place in May 2008. Total Linhas Aéreas is a national air freight company and will continue to operate as an independent brand.

On 28 May 2012, the merger of the airlines Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras TRIP Linhas Aéreas and was announced. On 6 March 2013, the Brazilian authorities approved the merger. The new airline will operate under the name Azul and is now the third largest airline in Brazil, according to TAM and Gol.
