Trnavské automobilové závody

Trnavské automobilové závody, štátny podnik (Slovak for Trnava automotive plants, state-owned enterprise; abbreviated TAZ; until 1990 Trnavské automobilové závody, Národný podnik Engl.: Trnava Automobil -Werke, national enterprise ) is a which originate from the Škoda group automobile and parts manufacturers in Trnava, Slovakia.

History

The origin lies in an iron melt was founded in 1917. 1934, the production of household electrical appliances (eg washing machines) and refrigeration was taken. The automobile production began only in 1964 with the relocation of parts of the manufacturer Praga and Tatra. There, among other things, the transmission of the Škoda 1202 and the axes of the Praga V3S were manufactured.

Škoda 1203 / TAZ 1500 - produced from 1981 to 1999 in Trnava

1973 first Fertigungsprozese of 1968 produced at the plant Vrchlabí pickup truck Škoda were relocated in 1203 to Trnava. In 1981 the production was exclusively there. This transporter was named after the division of Czechoslovakia Škoda TAZ and in the end only TAZ 1203. He was replaced by the TAZ 1500 1993.
