Name
The name probably comes from Trubach ahd ' truobi ': Oh cloudy
After heavy rainfall bright sediment is from the countless small sources introduced or swirled in the stream, causing a rapid turbidity of the otherwise clear creek.
Geography
Trubachquelle
The Trubachquelle located in Obertrubach. It is a karst spring at the southwestern edge of the village, below the rocks. The current source is contained in concrete and provided with a wooden railing. Previously sprang the Trubach in one of the karst caves, but that source dried up over the years.
River
The Trubach runs in predominantly north-westerly direction through the Trubachtal. In Pretzfeld it flows into the Wiesentfels.

For Trubachtal include the places Pretzfeld ( Pretzfelder lock), Hetzelsdorf, Urspringtal, Selva, Upper Unterzaunsbach, Unterzaunsbach, Hundshaupten ( deer park and castle), Wichsenstein ( 587 m high vantage point ), Bieberbach, Egloff stone (castle Egloff stone), Affalterthal, Thuisbrunn ( Thuisbrunner castle), the very picturesque location Wolfsberg (cliffs with castle ruins ), Obertrubach.
Mills
At the Trubach there are many mills, for example, the hacker mill and the brick mill.
Recreation
Hiking
An interesting, about 19 km long hiking trail offers the hiker next to the beautiful views of the Trubachtal many attractions. Canoeing and kayaking are prohibited throughout the year
Fishing
First of all salmonids. The fishing rights are mostly privately owned. In a section of the Trubach day tickets are available for fishing. Prerequisite for fishing in the 1.2-km section in the area of the village Schweintal is the possession of a fishing license.
Rock climbing
The Trubachtal is also one of the major climbing areas of the Northern Frankenjura with rocks as the Richard -Wagner- rock, the Hartelstein, the Eldorado, Fürth Tower and the ten stone.
