Trude Eipperle

Trude Eipperle ( born January 27, 1908 in Stuttgart, † October 18, 1997 ibid ) was a German singer (soprano ).

After finishing her studies at the Musikhochschule Stuttgart and volunteer at the local opera her stage career began in 1929 at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden. In the thirties and forties, she was engaged in Nuremberg, Stuttgart, Munich and Cologne. From 1951 until her farewell stage in 1965 she was a member of the Staatsoper Stuttgart, where she was also named an honorary member.

She has performed at all major opera houses of Europe, participated in the Salzburg ( 1942 as Zdenka in Arabella by Richard Strauss) and Bayreuth Festival, with ( in 1952 as Eva in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg).

Her repertoire included the major roles in operas by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart ( Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, the Countess in The Marriage of Figaro, Pamina in The Magic Flute ), by Richard Strauss ( Arabella, the Marschallin in Der Rosenkavalier, Empress in Die Frau ohne Schatten ) and Richard Wagner ( Elsa in Lohengrin, Elisabeth in Tannhäuser ). In the Italian repertoire they shone in operas by Giacomo Puccini ( Mimi in La Boheme, Madame Butterfly, Turandot Liu ) and Giuseppe Verdi ( Otello Desdemona in, Elisabeth in Don Carlos ). As a concert and oratorio singer, she was successful.

Beginning in 1942, relatively few recordings for the German Grammophon Gesellschaft. There but numerous radio recordings were released on LP and CD with her.
