Tscherttegasse (Vienna U-Bahn)

The station Tscherttegasse is an aboveground station of the Vienna U -Bahn on the line U6 in the 12th district of Vienna Meidling. It was opened by Siebenhirten on 15 April 1995 during the extension of the U6. Even before that took advantage of the fast tram line 64, the platform and access equipment. This results in the low track distance, so there is none of the usual on the entire route elevated cable channels between the tracks here. North of the station, there is a crossover from the U6 to the Badner Bahn. Before removing the subway trains of line 64 wrong about this at the time -scale double track connection.

In the architecture of all new erbauter stations of the U6 - Südastes a new deformation technology of aluminum profiled sheeting was applied, which allowed the construction of differently shaped arches. The combination with blue glazed concrete and glass give the station a signal effect. Strikingly especially the rounded top lift towers. The design comes from Johann Georg Gsteu.

The station is located at the western end of the Tscherttegasse, east of Altmannsdorfer cemetery and the cable works Meidling. Southwest, in the immediate vicinity, also located the pumping station of the local railway station Wien -Baden. North of the station Tscherttegasse runs the Donauländebahn and Pottendorfer line.
