Tsifteteli

Tsifteteli, (prop ausgespr " Tschifteteli " in Turkish. Çiftetelli " two-string " from " Çift " - pair, "tel" - string and " li" - with ) Greek τσιφτετέλι, is a Turkish / Greek traditional oriental dance in 2/4-cycle. He is a freelance dance without prescribed sequence of steps and movements with a typical style.

Tsifteteli is a Greek borrowing of the Turkish word Çiftetelli what " two -string " means (in relation to a specific violin playing technique ) or to "move like a snake ." This dance is common in Turkey and Greece as well as throughout the former territory of the Ottoman Empire.

An example of a Tsifteteli is the song Misirlou (Turkish: Mısırlı "Egyptian / in " ), which was taken well after its emergence from the surf guitarist Dick Dale in an altered rock version.
