Tsundere (Japaneseツンデレ) is a term that describes a certain Japanese character archetype in the works of Japanese pop culture.

As a mostly female tsundere character type is called, which is characterized by a bitchy and argumentative way, but under certain circumstances restrained and adorable behaves as if he or she is with someone alone. Since the term used in slang primarily via the Internet, the definitions vary widely. Thus, other character types, which differ both in gender and in style, sometimes referred to as tsundere. Term

The word Tsundere is made up of two Japanese words tsuntsun (ツンツン, dt " unsociable, bad-tempered, grouchy " ) and other more (デレデレ, dt " flirting, love " ) together.

The combination of the two as tsuntsun other more probably first appeared in an entry in the BBS Ayashii World @ Zantei (あやしい わーるど@暂定) of 29 August 2002 on to describe the character Ayu Daikūji from the computer game Kimi ga Nozomu Eien and then in November the shortening as a tsundere.

In substantivierter form of the term Tsunderekko (ツンデレっ娘) is used, which refers to a girl with personality described. More rarely, the term Deretsun (デレツン) is encountered, the results from the inverted word order, but the same characteristics describes.

Examples

The voice actress Rie Kugimiya Tsundere is known for roles such as Shana from Shakugan no Shana, Louise from Zero no Tsukaima, Taiga from Toradora! and Nagi from Hayate no Gotoku! , which is why (no Jooツンデレ の 女王, tsundere ) is referred to as the "Queen of Tsundere ".

In previous productions can also find relevant personalities, even if they have not been referred to at the time as Tsundere - as Naru Narusegawa from Love Hina, Asuka Langley Soryu from Neon Genesis Evangelion or Lina Inverse from Slayers. Koichi Ichikawa (市 川 孝 一), one of three head of Comiket, Lum Urusei Yatsura called out as the source of Moe and the first tsundere character.

Influence

The burrowing behind the notion of concept has been established in many well-known works. To exist in Akihabara Tsundere cafes, that is, Cosplay restaurants with apparently rude waitresses, and the Japanese toy maker Takara Tomy 2007 brought a portable Tsundere televisions voiced by Rie Kugimiya out, the first gives the user cool and nagging feedback, but are warmer and longing with time.
