Tsuru University

The Humanities Institute of Tsuru (Japanese都 留 文科 大学, Tsuru bunka daigaku, Eng. Tsuru University) is an urban university in Japan. It is located in Tahara, Tsuru in Yamanashi prefecture.
She was until 2011 the only urban university that offers the course for primary teacher education. The university with about 3,000 students has great economic importance for the small town of only 34,000 inhabitants. About 90 percent of the students come from outside the prefecture of Yamanashi.
History
The college was founded in 1953 as a prefectural Temporary Teachers College Yamanashi (山 梨 県 立 临时 教员 养成 所). 1955 created the city administration Tsuru after her two-year short- University Tsuru (都 留 短期 大学, Tsuru tanki daigaku ). She had departments for primary teacher education as well as in economics.
In 1960 she became the Humanities University Tsuru. In 1966 she moved to the present campus. In 1995 she founded the Graduate School (Master degree programs ).
