Tuhobić Tunnel

The Tuhobićtunnel is named after the approximately 1106 m high mountain Tuhobic and is a motorway tunnel in Croatia. It is located about eight kilometers northeast of the coastal town Kraljevica in the route of the A6 highway (Zagreb - Rijeka). The first tube in 1996, took the second of 2008. The highway is very busy because it drive daily up to 11,000 vehicles through the tunnel. The length is 2,143 m. The Portal height level is around 730 m above sea level.

In the European ADAC road tunnel test in 2004, the tunnel cut off badly. The ADAC gave the tunnel, the "poor ". This was mainly due to the damaged road surface and the inadequacy of escape routes. However, after the expansion carried out in 2009, he stood at the second place of the safest tunnel in Europe.
