TUL-Cup

The TUL - Cup is an intermittently since 1920 been registered football competition of the workers' Sports Federation TUL ( Suomen Työväen Urheiluliitto ). The winner of the TUL -Cup is a Finnish champion of workers' sports association, but since 1949 all play TUL - clubs in the league system of the SPL ( Suomen Palloliitto ), the Finnish Football Association. Therefore the TUL - Cup will be played only in the Cup format since 1949.

Record winner is FC KooTeePee from Kotka, which emerged from the association Kotkan Työväen Palloilijat. Together, the players Kotkas won the Cup 12 times TUL, most recently in 2010. (As of 2010 )

History

The Suomen Työväen Urheiluliitto was founded in 1919. In 1920, the first football championship of this association has been played. Helsingin Kullervo won the Cup against Kuopion Riento with 13:1 -finals. By 1932, the competition should be played in the Cup mode. Then the TTS Master was played in a league. During the war, they returned to the Cup mode. In 1948 an association rather than round with the teams of the National Sports Association. The teams that had qualified athletic, took part in the Mestaruussarja 1949, then in the clubs of both associations should play together for the first time.

From 1956 to 1972, the tournament was completely exposed. However, the TUL remembered their tradition and led the 1973 TTS Cup again, which is played to this day even after the introduction of a new umbrella organization in the Finnish Sport mid -1990s.
