Tupolev Tu-82

The Tupolev Tu -82 (Russian Туполев Ту -82) was a Soviet bomber aircraft from the second half of the 1940s and in this capacity, the first car equipped with swept wings jet-propelled aircraft of OKB Tupolev.

History

The model was developed as a parallel draft of the Tu -14 and based on the project as this 72 which in turn resulted from a requirement of the Air Force for a twin-engine jet bomber from the beginning of 1946. The hull resembled largely the Tu -14, had a glazed nose and patch cockpit and a manned defensive stand in the rear. Overall, the Tu- 82 was kept in length and wingspan but by about four meters smaller. The zweiholmige wing used had a sweep angle of 35 ° and was placed in the fuselage -wing monoplane configuration. The tail had a sweep of 40 °. The WK -1 engines used were arranged suspended under the wing; their gondolas also served to accommodate the double ringed main cycling plant.

In February 1949, performed by A. D. Pereljot the first flight. Further experimentation proceeded without major incidents and provided some insights about the flight characteristics of swept-wing multi-engine aircraft in the subsonic range. Also in 1949, a second prototype under the designation Tu -83 was developed. He had a delay of two meters hull with an additional remote-controlled defensive stand at the back. The crew was from three to four men, increases the defensive armament of three to six machine guns. The pattern was also flown in from Pereljot, but went as the Tu -82 in favor of the Tu- 14 is not in mass production.
