Turau (White Russian Тураў; Russian Туров, Turow; lithuanian Turava ) is a city in the south of the Republic of Belarus in the field of Prypjatsümpfe at Schitkawitschy in Homelskaja Woblasz.

Turau is the ancient capital of the Slavic Dregowitschen and the legend was founded by a Duke Tur. Around 900 it came under the rule of the Rjurikiden of Kievan Rus and was in 1054 the residence of the Principality of Turov - Pinsk part that came to Lithuania in 1319. 1005 was Turau the first Roman Catholic bishop's residence in the present-day Belarus. One of the first bishops of the Orthodox Church was Cyril of Turau.

1502 and 1521 Turau was sacked by the Tartars; In the 17th century it suffered from the wars with Moscow and sank down to the small town.
