The approximately two -kilometer-long gorge is crossed by Hasdate -Bach, who has been excavated in the limestone and thus breaks through the ridge of the Trascău Mountains. On either side is bounded by approximately 300 meter high cliffs the gorge. In these there are several caves.

In the valley floor a good walk- walk has been created. The slopes and walls are only accessible to mountaineers.

Since 1938, the canyon was put under protection due to the presence of alpine plant species. This area has now expanded to 176 acres.
