Turkish general election, 1935

The parliamentary elections in Turkey in 1935 were general elections that took place in Turkey on February 8, 1935.

It was the first parliamentary elections after the constitutional amendment of 11 December 1934 in which women in both the active and the passive suffrage state - and were thus chosen as deputies. He was selected 383 male and 17 female MPs by the people. This is a women's share of 4.6 or 4.8 %. Also, the voting age was increased in relation to the right to vote from 18 to 22 before the general election. For the passive right to vote, the Constitution laid down a age of 30.

You could choose from a selection of members of the Republican People's Faction ( CHF ). The President of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, was chairman of the party and was determined by the party at the same time as another presidential candidate.

Furthermore it was the last election in which the Cumhuriyet Halk Fırkası occurred under this name. It overall 384 CHF - MPs and 160 provincial delegates were elected. Immediately after the election Atatürk was confirmed for the 4th time in his presidency.
