The parliamentary elections in Turkey in 1983 were held on November 6, 1983. There were elections to the 17th Grand National Assembly and the first democratic elections after the military coup in 1980.

The National Security Council banned the former political parties, which led to the creation of new parties. Turgut Özal's Motherland Party won this election with 45.14 % of votes. The turnout was 76.6 %.

The People's Party was the continuation of the former CHP and was the only left-wing party in the election. The Nationalist party democracy was established by the military, while the Motherland Party as the successor of the former Justice Party (AP ) is seen.
