Turkish Ice Hockey Super League

The Turkish Ice Hockey Super League (Turkish: Türkiye Buz Süper Ligi Hokeyi, short TBHSL ) is the highest Turkish Hockey League, in 1993, the Turkish national champion is played. Is organized by the League by the Turkish Ice Hockey Federation TBHF who is a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF.

History

The Turkish Super League was founded in 1993. The first championship was won by the Ankara Spor Kulübü Büyükşehir Belediyesi, who is also master record before Polis Akademisi ve Koleji with five titles won seven titles. In the 2008 / 09 season, playing eight teams in the Super League, of which six out of the capital Ankara, and one each came from Istanbul and Izmit. In the 2007 /08 season TED Istanbul Koleji dismounted and with second division champions Spor Kulübü ABBA another team from Ankara. Champion for the fifth time Polis Akademisi ve Koleji that prevailed in the final against Kocaeli Büyükşehir Belediyesi Spor Kulübü Kağıt.

Mode

A season in the Turkish Super League Hockey usually lasts from December to March. In the regular season, eight teams in home -and-away play against each other, so that each team plays 14 games. The last of the regular season rises to the second division and the second division champions from up in the Super League. The first four teams qualify for the playoffs. The playoffs are played in best-of -three mode. The end of the regular season better placed team has in each case first home law.
