Tuvalu national football team

The Tuvalu national football team is the selection team of the Pacific island nation of Tuvalu.

Tuvalu is not a member of the world football governing body FIFA, therefore you can not qualify for World Cup Soccer Championships. As an associate member of the regional association OFC 2007 the team first participated in the qualification for the OFC Nations Cup. Since the qualification for the OFC Nations Cup ( South Pacific, 2007 ) was the same as the World Cup qualifiers, Tuvalu was the first non- FIFA member who took part in the qualification for the World Cup.

The previous matches found Tuvalu as part of the South Pacific Games in Fiji in 1979, 2003 and 2007 at the same location in Samoa instead. At the 2007 Games after all, a 1:1 succeeded against Tahiti. In 2011, Tuvalu took part in the Pacific Games. There succeeded in the first match against American Samoa 4-0 the highest ever victory.

In September 2008, visited the Tuvaluan Prime Minister Apisai Ielemia and the President of the Tuvalu National Football Association, Tapugao Falefou to reach the FIFA headquarters in Zurich in the hope of full membership in the organization. In the 2012 season, the Dutch coach Foppe de Haan was the coach of the national team. In the Pacific Games the team scored four points, their best result so far is.
