TVXQ

TVXQ ( Chinese: Tong Xien Qi Vfang, Japanese: Tohoshinki, Korean Dong Bang Shin Ki - DBSK The Rising Gods of the East) is one of the most successful five-member boy bands from South Korea. It was discovered like BoA and Shinhwa in a talent competition of the South Korean label SM Entertainment. In 2008 she received an entry in the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest fan club, called " Cassiopeia " with 800,000 official members alone in Korea (as of 2008 ).

Band History

2003-2005: Debut

December 26, 2003 provided TVXQ made their first appearance in a joint show of BoA and Britney Spears. They sang their debut single " Hug " and an a cappella version of " O Holy Night" with BoA. In January 2004, their debut single " Hug " was released. With the sale of a total of 169 532 copies and 4th place in the monthly charts, the single was one of the 14 best-selling albums of the year. Her second single "The Way U Are" (July 2004) debuted at # 2 on the charts and was with 214 069 records sold one of the 9 best-selling records of the year. TVXQ released their first album Tri - Angle in October 2004., Rising equal to one at the top of the charts and placed with 242 580 copies sold on the 8th Place the annual charts.

In April 2005, TVXQ debuted in Japan at Avex subsidiary label Rhythm Zone with the single " Stay with Me Tonight". After they had also released their second Japanese single, " Somebody to Love", they returned to Korea and released their second Korean album Rising Sun. Rising Sun once occupied the top of the charts and was charged with 222 472 copies of one of the four best-selling boards of 2005. TVXQ ended the year with their third Japanese single, "My Destiny " and together with Super Junior, who are also at SM Entertainment under contract with the Korean single " Show Me Your Love" from. The latter was immediately Leader of the charts and landed with 49 945 copies at No. 35 of the year charts. At the end of the year, TVXQ received the Mnet KM Music Video Festival 2005 " Best Music Video Award " for " Rising Sun" and the " People's Choice Award".

2006-2007: Rise in Asia

2006 began their first international tour TVXQ: Rising Sun 1st Asia Tour. Stations were next to South Korea, among others, China, Thailand and Malaysia, what ever made them the first Korean artists who gave a concert in Malaysia. In March, the band released their fourth Japanese single, " Asu wa Kuru Kara " (明日は来るから) and a little later their first Japanese album Heart, Mind and Soul. The album debuted with 9,554 copies sold at No. 25 of the weekly Oricon charts. Their fifth Japanese single, "Rising Sun / Heart, Mind and Soul" a month later, debuted at number 22 on the Oricon singles chart. To promote the album, TVXQ held their first Japanese tour 1st Live Tour 2006: Heart, Mind and Soul by May to June. TVXQ to publish two more Japanese singles, "Begin " and " Sky". The latter debuted at # 6 on the charts and was the first single from the group that brought it into the top ten on the Oricon charts. In summer 2006, TVXQ appeared for the first time at the annual open- air festival of Avexa Nation.

With their third Korean album " O" Jung.Ban.Hap. ("O" -. . .正反合, literally " O" These.Antithese.Synthese ) (September 2006) they took their Korean activities on again. Like their two previous albums, also jumped "O" Jung.Ban.Hap. with 349 317 copies sold on the top of the charts and became the best-selling record of 2006, two months after the release of " O" Jung.Ban.Hap the group claimed its eighth Japanese single, "Miss You / " O " -. Sei- Han - Gō " (miss you / " O " -正·反·合) out and made it to number 3 on the Oricon charts, which made it the first top 5 hit of the band. From 2008: Rising success in Japan and return to South Korea

TVXQ released their sixteenth Japanese single Purple Line on January 16, 2008. This debuted at # 1 on the Oricon Daily Charts, which made them the first number - one hit of the band. Some time later their third Japanese album T came on the market, which debuted at # 4 on the Oricon Charts Weekly album. THSKs record label Rhythm Zone Trick project presaged: a project in which five singles were to be released successively in six weeks (February to March). In August, TVXQ returned back to South Korea to take part in the SMTown Live '08. Here they played with labelmates BoA, Cheon Sang Ji Hee the Grace, Zhang Liyin, Girls' Generation, Shinee or Super Junior.

The fourth Korean album Mirotic should appear on September 24, making the big comeback after almost two years of break in Korea. However, due to the immense number of pre-orders, there was delay to two days. Even after the long break, they managed to top the charts with 307,974 copies sold with Mirotic. In January 2009, the number of plates sold amounted to 502 837, which for the first Korean album Mirotic had been doing for six years which had passed the 500,000 threshold and finished a very successful comeback of five Koreans. In October, TVXQ released Jumon: Mirotic, the Japanese version of the same title Korean songs. The single topped the Oricon in Japan charts and thus broke the record, the band had established with their latest single. On 31 January 2008 TVXQ attended the Kohaku Uta Gassen, a highly prestigious music program in Japan, which is equipped with only the cream -de- la- creme of the Japanese music scene. TVXQ was the first Korean band ever, who was bestowed the honor to participate in this annual end show.

The January 2009 began TVXQ with their 25th single Bolero / Kiss the Baby Sky / Wasurenaide which stressed again # 1 on the Oricon charts for itself. In March they released their 26th single Survivor and her fourth Japanese album The Secret Code, which debuted at # 2 on the album charts. Survivor climbed to the 3rd place on the Oricon charts and thus ended her record for the time being.
