Twenty20 Cup

The Twenty20 Cup is a only in 2003 introduced Limited Overs Competition for English first-class county clubs, he replaced the Benson & Hedges Cup after 31 years.

The name is due to the Twenty20 format of the game, as the innings of both teams are limited to 20 overs, a game therefore takes less than three hours. The impact people need much faster points than usual and the entertainment value by the rasa tere play, not least for young audiences and families, will be increased. After the original from 2010 planned " English Premier League " (EPL ) was placed on ice, it was 2010, only a modified game format with two 9- groups (north and south, instead of the previous three groups of 6 ) with subsequent elimination system from the quarter-finals. Under the new name Friends Provident t20 the preliminary round matches were therefore extended to 6 weeks. The finals day with the two semi-finals and the final on the same day in a stadium remained.
