His popularity soared as he as Tip of My Tongue came a little later by his above-average fast rhymes as the "fastest rapper living " with the song From the Guinness Book of World Records.

In 1995 he moved to Atlantic Records. Four other albums (including two compilations under his sub- label " Legit Ballin ' " ) followed, before the breakthrough came in 2004 with Kamikaze. The album reached No. 1 on the Billboard charts and produced six successful singles out, including hits like Slow Jamz by Kanye West and Jamie Foxx and Sunshine with Anthony Hamilton.

In autumn 2005 appeared The Day After. The album was produced in collaboration with artists and producers such as Pharrell Williams, Snoop Dogg, Syleena Johnson, Lil 'Kim and Mariah Carey. Girl Tonite, Hit the Floor and So Lonely was released as a single, of which Girl Tonite was the most successful with a 14th place on the Billboard charts. 2009 published his Twista Album Category F5, which reached number 8 on the Billboard charts. On 9 November 2010 Twista released his eighth solo album, The Perfect Storm, which reached number 38 on the Billboard charts and thus not able to build on the success of the previous albums.
