Two Qiaos

The two Qiao's are fictional characters in Luo Guanzhongs novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms. They are the daughters of Qiao Xuan and are considered great beauties of Imperial China. Because their names are not recorded, they are used to distinguish the older Qiao (Chinese大桥/大桥, Pinyin Da Qiao ) and the younger Qiao (Chinese小桥/小桥, Pinyin xiǎo Qiao ) called.

The elder Qiao sister married the warlord Sun Ce and bears him a daughter who later married to Lu Xun. The younger married Sun Ces friend and brother in arms Zhou Yu, with whom she has three children: Zhou Xun, Zhou Yin and Zhou Ying.

In the novel, the strategist Zhuge Liang uses the Qiao sisters also to bring Zhou Yu to a mobilization against Cao Cao. He made him believe that Cao Cao planned to tear the Qiao sisters in itself. In alliance with Zhuge Liang and Pang Tong Zhou Yu prepared then before the Battle of Chibi.
