Tyszowce Confederation

The Confederacy of Tyszowce (Polish Konfederacja tyszowiecka ) was a political-military alliance, which was constituted by the Polish hetman Stanisław Potocki and Rewera from Feldhetmann Stanisław Lanckoroński on December 29, 1655 in Tyszowce, east of Zamość and proclaimed on December 31. The alliance was an alliance of various Polish- Lithuanian nobleman and presented, in addition to the siege of Jasna Góra, a turning point in Sweden against Poland - Lithuania during the Second Northern War I. This alliance included, in addition to the mentioned hetmans also other important members of the Polish nobility, as about Stefan Czarnecki on. The Alliance looked at John II Casimir, who had come back on December 18, 1655 from his exile in Silesia with the Polish Crown Jewels to Lviv, as their true king and fought from there Charles X Gustav of Sweden and its claim to the Polish-Lithuanian throne.

On January 22, 1656 Confederation of Tyszowce Łańcut was converted into a General Confederation.
