U.S. Cup

The U.S. Cup, also called the United States Cup, U.S. Cup and Nike U.S. Cup, was a 1992-2000 regular -find soccer invitational tournament, which was organized by the American Football Association and played in the United States. This tournament of the sport in the U.S. should be more popular. There was both a men's and a women's tournament.

The men's tournament was except for the years 1994 and 1998, in which a World Cup took place, held annually from 1992 to 2000.

The women's tournament was held annually from 1995 to 2002, but was canceled in 2001 due to the terrorist attacks on 11 September 2001.

Mode

Regularly, the United States invited three teams. There was a group of four formed and the tournament was held in an " every man for himself " mode, whereby each team had to contest three games. The standings after discharge of all games was the winner of the U.S. Cup.

Exceptionally, Mr. tournament in 1999 and the women's tournament in 2000 was played in a knockout system, after which the winner of the first game the finals and the loser of the first game the game for third place fought out.

In 1993 the German national team at the Lord tournament and won it. The German women's team only took part in the aborted 2001 tournament, where they each won one game and lost. The third game was not played.
